Following his recent big match with John Cena, WWE star R-Truth has announced he has been released by the company.
Truth just announced the following on social media:
Im sorry to inform you all. I just got released from WWE.
I want to thank WWE for the ride, but MOSTLY I want to thank each and EVERYONE OF YOU who was along for the ride, Thank you for all the love, support, and appreciation you have given me over the years. Thank you
Just last weekend, Truth had a match against John Cena at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.
He had played a part in John Cena’s retirement tour, interfering in the match between Cena and Randy Orton at WWE Backlash, which set up the match at SNME.
He was last in action as recently as this past Friday’s May 30 episode of SmackDown in a losing effort to JC Mateo (Jeff Cobb).
According to PWInsider, “his current WWE deal will not be renewed and he is exiting.”
Truth had been in his second stint with WWE, having signed in 2008.
During his tenure, he’d been a two-time United States Champion, two-time Tag Team Champion (once with Kofi Kingston and once with The Miz), and of course, a 54-time 24/7 Champion.
We’ll keep you posted if any further updates emerge, and we wish Truth all the best going forward.
