It feels like a while ago since we filled our backlogs during the Steam Spring Sale 2025, but sure as death and taxes, the Summer Sale is now getting closer.

Valve’s storefront runs regular discounts weekly, but its seasonal sales are among the best because they include just about any publisher and genre from AAA to indie, and loading up your wishlist can ensure you don’t even have to go digging.

With the recent launch of Nintendo Switch 2 and announcement of a new Xbox handheld, this could also be a great chance to Valve to discount its Steam Deck OLED, but we know we’re going to get some fantastic software deals regardless.

Here’s all you need to know.

The Steam sale is back

The Steam Summer Sale 2025 is slated to kick off on June 26, meaning we’re just ten days away from a heap of discounts at the time of writing.

Expect Valve to break cover just a few days before to release a trailer showcasing some of the games on sale, and confirmation as to whether the Steam Deck hardware will get a discount.

Generally speaking, if a game has seen a discount in the last seasonal sale, you can expect it to see a similar price cut here. We rounded up the best deals back then, and here were the ones that stuck out:

We might even see early discounts on some of 2025’s biggest games, like Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Monster Hunter Wilds, DOOM: The Dark Ages, or Kingdom Come Deliverance II.

Steam’s come such a long way from the launcher I begrudgingly used for Football Manager back in the day, and 95% off of some bonafide classics just shows it’s worth saving your pennies.

Plus, as we mentioned earlier, you can add games to your wishlist to be notified when they’re discounted, taking the hassle out of searching endlessly (and you really could search endlessly, given the sheer volume of discounts expect.
