Fans have come to be quite attached to the characters of 1923. And after the penultimate episode killed off one of the Duttons, they can’t help but speculate what’s next.
***SPOILERS AHEAD***
As a refresher, in 1923 Season 2 Episode 6, seven characters were killed off, including Jack Dutton. This creates a bit of a cliffhanger considering he and Elizabeth Strafford are expecting a child—something the pair found to be nothing short of miraculous after Elizabeth’s miscarriage at the end of Season 1. Now that he’s no longer alive, however, many are wondering if Elizabeth will stay on the ranch or if she’ll head back East to her family.
One theory that’s currently circulating TikTok is that Spencer and Alex will actually never reunite this season and instead, he’ll make it home and raise Jack’s child.
Another theory is that Elizabeth dies in childbirth and Spencer and Alex will raise their children together as one family.
Of course, at this point, the topic that’s on most people’s minds isn’t merely who will raise Jack’s baby. The question we’re all wondering is whether or not Alex is going to die in that snowdrift alongside her frozen friends, or if she’s going to somehow find the will to survive. Some fans are guessing that her car is butted up against a set of train tracks, with the hope that Spencer’s train comes barreling by just in time. It’s a wild theory but one we can certainly hope for considering Alex’s dire straits.
Now, to patiently wait for the real story. The 2-hour finale event of 1923 Season 2 airs on Sunday, April 6.
