17:20 CET –Â Former Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina overcame a bit of a test from Katerina Siniakova, eventually downing her Czech opponent 6-4, 7-6(5) in an hour and three quarters to progress into the last eight in Berlin.
17:06 CET – Katie Boulter has continued her remarkable form in Nottingham, with the two-time defending champion overcoming fellow Brit Sonay Kartal 6-4, 1-6, 7-5 to make it 12 straight wins at this venue as she seals her spot in the quarter-finals.
16:55 CET – Fourth seed Andrey Rublev has been dumped out in Halle after Tomas Martin Etcheverry saved two match points to progress 6-3, 6-7(4), 7-6(6).
Meanwhile, at Queen’s, home favourite Jacob Fearnley saw off the challenge of Corentin Moutet 6-3, 2-6, 6-2 to extend his remarkable unbeaten record against Frenchmen to 19 matches.Â
16:20 CET – Tomas Machac has eased into the Halle quarter-finals after a convincing 6-2, 6-3 victory over Fabian Marozsan in exactly an hour.
15:33 CET – Some breaking news away from the on-court action this afternoon, with two-time former Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova announcing her retirement from the sport.Â
The Czech’s final tournament will be the US Open at the end of August.
“While no such decision is ever easy to make, for me this is a happy moment! I will leave the sport with the biggest smile on my face – the same smile you’ve seen from me on and off court throughout my whole career,” she said in a statement.
15:20 CET –Â After her second-round match in Berlin was suspended last night, Aryna Sabalenka has completed the job this afternoon, seeing off the challenge of Rebeka Masarova 6-2, 7-6(6).
15:02 CET – Magda Linette is the latest woman to progress to the Nottingham quarter-finals, with the Pole easing past Mingge Xu in straight sets, 7-5, 6-1.
Meanwhile, in Halle, Flavio Cobolli is through after outlasting Denis Shapovalov in a fiercely competitive contest, 7-6(2), 4-6, 7-6(5).
14:15 CET –Â Jiri Lehecka has put in another really strong performance at Queen’s this week, cruising to a 6-4, 6-2 win over the recent ‘s-Hertogenbosch champion, Gabriel Diallo.
14:00 CET – Former Wimbledon champion Marketa Vondrousova was involved in a tight tussle with Diana Shnaider, eventually coming out on top 6-3, 6-7(3), 6-3 to book her spot in the Berlin quarter-finals.
Meanwhile, McCartney Kessler was victorious in Nottingham, easing past Lin Zhu 6-1, 6-4.Â
13:26 CET – Eighth seed Karen Khachanov is through to the quarter-finals in Halle after recovering from a second-set wobble against Felix Auger-Aliassime to prevail 6-3, 1-6, 6-3.
09:58 CET – Today’s grass-court action gets underway in 90 minutes, with Diana Shnaider taking on former Wimbledon champion Marketa Vondrousova in Berlin and Karen Khachanov facing Felix Auger-Aliassime at the ATP tournament in Halle.
There are plenty of big names involved a little later this afternoon, as recently-crowned French Open champion Coco Gauff begins her campaign in Berlin, Jannik Sinner returns to the court against Alexander Bublik and Carlos Alcaraz continues his run at Queen’s.
