Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Malcolm Stewart got into a fight with his motorcycle in the first 450 moto at High Point and took a massive uppercut, ending his day early at the fourth round of the Pro Motocross Championship on Saturday.
While running 10th in the opening moto, Malcolm made a mistake at the top of the hill, slide out of the rut and caught a Tyson-esque punch to the face.
On Sunday, he joked on Instagram about having all his teeth (still) and that he took the “he biggest uppercut I’ve ever felt.”
“Still got all my teeth (somehow) 🦷… but my neck’s been in a staring contest with the ceiling since that hit 😤 Took the biggest uppercut I’ve ever felt, and Moto 2 just wasn’t in the cards. We’ll heal up and be back soon 😎”
Malcolm was credited with 39th in the moto and was unable to line up for the second moto. Pro Motocross has a weekend off before returning Saturday, June 28 at Southwick. It is expected Malcolm will be able to race round 5.
“It was unfortunate for Malcolm to finish the weekend early, but we will look forward to the weekend off and then come out swinging after the break,” said Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing Team Manager Nathan Ramsey in a team release. “He took a handlebar to the chin, but he is super-tough, and we know he will bounce back quickly. The promise is there – it is just a matter of putting it together during the motos and making them count.”
