Two nurses in Sydney have been suspended after a disturbing video surfaced on TikTok, showing them making antisemitic threats against Jewish patients. The video, shared by an individual named Max Veifer, who claims to be from Israel, depicts a conversation with two people in medical scrubs. During the video, the man and woman express hate towards Israel, with the woman claiming she would refuse to treat Jewish patients and would instead kill them. The man also makes a threatening gesture, claiming to have already sent many Israelis to “Jahannam,” a term for Islamic hell.

The New South Wales (NSW) Health Minister, Ryan Park, confirmed the suspension of the nurses and stated that an investigation is underway. He emphasized that there is no chance these individuals would work again in the NSW Health system. The state’s antisemitic task force is also looking into the video, with police reports indicating that the involved individuals are cooperating with the investigation.

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese condemned the video, calling it a “vile” and “disgusting” display of hatred. The Australian Federal Police are offering support to local authorities in the investigation. The incident comes amid rising antisemitic attacks across Australia since the Israel-Gaza conflict escalated in late 2023, increasing tensions and fears within the Australian Jewish community, which numbers around 115,000.
