Roster Moves: Swanson, Schneider Up

We made it to another Sunday. It’s been a good week for the Jays. They went 5-2 and have a four-game winning streak going. They have remembered how to hit home runs.

Bo Bichette hit three home runs this week. Just when I was thinking he would never be the same player again, he put up a .280/.357/.720 line. It shows how quickly things can change; the week before, he had a .179/.207/.179 line.

And he hit his 100th career home run, the only Blue Jay shortstop to get to 100 home runs. Alex Gonzalez (the first Alex Gonzalez) is second to him on the SS list with 83.

Davis Schneider is back with the team, taking Daulton Varsho’s roster spot. Varsho’s injury is listed as a hamstring strain. Schneider was hitting .226/.350/.391 with the Bisons, but he has been better in the last week or two. In May, he hit .242/.358/.407. We have a bunch of LHH outfielders he could platoon with.

And Erik Swanson is back off the IL. Easton Lucas is on his way back to the Bisons. But I’m sure he appreciates his one-day MLB money and meal money.

I often put the Umpire Scorecard up when the Jays get (what is the polite term?) hosed. So let’s put one up where the umpire helped them out:

Roden is still not in today’s lineup. Schneider is. I don’t understand Clement at first when he is the best defensive infielder they have, but that’s life.
