Riley Green Matches Donation for Hurricane and Fire Relief, Raises $18K at a Bluebird Cafe Benefit Show

Unfortunately, 2024 and 2025 have seen its fair share of natural disasters. Consequently, every arm of the entertainment industry has gone to great lengths to support the people and places affected by both wildfires and hurricanes. One arm of the industry that continually keeps helping is country music. And recently, Riley Green perpetuated that trend once again by raising money for those affected by the disasters.

If you are familiar with the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, Tennessee, you know it is not a large venue. However, it has hosted country music greats such as Keith Urban, Kris Kristofferson, Taylor Swift, Faith Hill, Vince Gill, Townes Van Zandt, Dierks Bentley, John Prine, and now Riley Green.

Prior to his benefit show on March 19, Green had never played the venue. That being so, the country singer made quite the splash as his entertainment for the evening made ripples to more folks than just the ones in the crowd. The masses affected by this year’s wildfires and hurricanes will also hopefully benefit from the proceeds raised by the event.

Riley Green & Co Raise $18,000 in One Night

On March 19, fellow country musicians Lukas Nelson, Erik Dylan, Jessi Alexander, and Randy Montana joined Riley Green for the charitable event. Those four artists raised an impressive $9,000, and what brought the sum up to $18,000 was Riley Green’s match. Green’s match was made possible through his Buford Bonds Charitable Fund, which has raised money for non-profit organizations around the country.

The Bluebird Cafe’s concert was organized with the intention to raise money for wildfire and hurricane relief. Specifically, all proceeds of the event went to the Recording Academy’s Nashville Chapter’s hurricane and LA fire relief efforts.

During Riley Green’s segment of the show, he performed “In The Worst Way,” “Don’t Mind if I Do,” and several other of his staple tunes. Regardless of the music and the star-studded names in attendance, the event further re-iterated the selflessness intrinsically embedded in the world of country music. Also, what a memorable and generous way for Riley Green to make his Bluebird Cafe debut.
