Panthers make lineup change ahead of Stanley Cup Final Game 3

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Florida Panthers took the ice in Fort Lauderdale on Monday morning ahead of Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final.

Florida split the opening two games of the series with the Edmonton Oilers.

“This is how it’s supposed to be,” said Panthers defenseman Niko Mikkola. “The two best teams going against each other. It’s going to be tight.”

The first two games were incredibly exciting, both going to overtime, with Edmonton winning Game 1 before Florida evened the series two nights later in double OT.

“I think that’s a big part of the playoffs,” said Panthers forward Anton Lundell. “You just have to get comfortable in the tight games, and especially games that go into overtime. You don’t want to get nervous or try (to do) too much, you just have to believe that if you do the right things you’re going to get the result.”

Now the series has shifted to South Florida, where the Panthers will host the next two games at Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise.

The Panthers will be making a lineup change ahead of Game 3, with forward A.J. Greer returning from an injury and slotting back onto Florida’s fourth line.

Greer will replace Jesper Boqvist, who has played 13 playoff games for the Cats, accumulating two goals and five points.

Puck drop is set for 8 p.m. from Amerant Bank Arena.
