Deadpool Star Morena Baccarin Joins Live-Action Masters of the Universe Reboot

Amazon’s upcoming Masters of the Universe reboot stars Nicholas Galitzine in the leading role, and multiple new additions have just been announced.

Galitzine’s image isn’t exactly a clear look at his He-Man. Along with having the picture taken from behind, Galitzine’s body is mostly obscured by shadows. However, fans may still be able to see some familiar details, enough to see that the costume looks accurate to how He-Man was depicted in the original animated version of Masters of the Universe. He also appears to have the same hairstyle along with the character’s trusty Power Sword.

Along with Galitzine as He-Man, the movie also stars Camila Mendes as Teela, Jared Leto as Skeletor, Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn, Idris Elba as Man-At-Arms, Sam C. Wilson as Trap Jaw, Morena Baccarin as the Sorceress, James Purefoy as King Randor, Charlotte Riley as Queen Marlena Glenn, and Sasheer Zamata as Suzie. Agatha All Along Star Among New Additions to Amazon’s Masters of the Universe Movie

Amazon’s Masters of the Universe reboot has added three new actors to its cast, including one of the stars of Marvel Studios’ Agatha All Along.

“I’ve been lifting all the heavy things in the world to get into He-Man shape,” Galitzine previously told Vogue about his transformation for his He-Man role.

In a separate interview with W Magazine, he also said of his casting, “No pressure, I just have to embody the strongest man in the universe. There’s been a lot of eating and weightlifting, a lot of stunts. I’m eating about 4,000 calories a day, but the amount of physical work I’m doing, you end up hungry at the end of the day, which is quite surprising. This is the fun part.”

“I will eventually go into what’s called the cutting phase, where I’m going to be starved and so rude to everyone,” the actor continued. “I can only apologize for the person I’m going to become in a few months’ time,

The new Masters of the Universe will be released in theaters on June 5, 2026. Meanwhile, the original 1987 live-action film with Dolph Lundgren as He-Man is currently streaming for free on PlutoTV. It is also on Prime Video.
