All of Middle Tennessee is at risk for severe storms, including damaging winds and heavy rainfall, on June 9. Most of the region is under a slight risk (level 2 out of 5) while northwest portions of the region are under a marginal risk (level 1 out of 5), said the National Weather Service.
According to the Storm Prediction Center, the anticipated storms are part of a larger system moving throughout the gulf coast states and the southeast.
Storms, which may also bring a lesser threat of large hail, are most likely to move into the region during the afternoon hours, specifically between 1 and 6 p.m. and should exit before sunset, added the weather service.
Tornadoes are not expected.
There is a medium to high chain of rain and storms across Middle Tennessee on June 9, with a low to medium chance that some storms will be severe. Storms are expected to move through Middle Tennessee between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Quieter weather will resume on June 9-10, before rain and storm chances resume on June 11 and throughout the weekend, said the weather service.

Friday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 91 and a 60% chance of showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 1 p.m. Then mostly cloudy, with a low around 73 at night and a 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1 a.m.
Saturday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 91 and a 70% chance of showers and thunderstorms. Then mostly cloudy, with a low around 73 at night and a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms.
Sunday: A high near 89 and an 80% chance of showers and possibly a thunderstorm.
