MLB Prop Bets for Monday, June 9, 2025

Arizona Diamondbacks team total runs over 2.5 through first five innings -125

The Diamondbacks are well-positioned against Mariners starter Emerson Hancock tonight. He has struggled, with an ERA and xERA both at 5.19. Both left-handed and right-handed batters have hit him well, posting a .361 wOBA and .358 wOBA, respectively. The Diamondbacks’ expected lineup has strong numbers against Hancock’s two main pitches: a sinker and a four-seam fastball. Since last season, they have a .348 wOBA and .188 ISO against the sinker, and a .389 wOBA with a .254 ISO against the four-seam. Hancock likely won’t last long, suggesting the Diamondbacks could score at least three runs in the first half of the game.

Tampa Bay Rays at Boston Red Sox: Both Teams to Score 3+ runs -115

I expect a high-scoring game tonight between the Rays and Red Sox, featuring Rays starter Shane Baz against Boston’s Brayan Bello. Baz struggled in May, posting a 7.26 ERA, a .427 wOBA, and allowing nine of his 13 total home runs. His struggles persisted into June, when he gave up three runs on five hits over five innings against a weak Rangers offense. Bello’s 3.91 ERA is deceptive, as his xERA sits at 5.71. The Rays have been excellent against the sinker, which has been the main pitch he’s thrown this season. Given both starters’ struggles, I predict each team will score at least three runs.
