MLB Picks: Player Props and Team Props for Thursday, June 19, 2025

Philadelphia Phillies over 4.5 runs +105 vs. Miami Marlins

Edward Cabrera takes the mound for Miami tonight, and I’m not optimistic about his chances. Cabrera has a 4.10 ERA and a 4.36 xERA over 52.2 innings across 11 starts. While these numbers aren’t terrible, he’s benefited from a relatively easy schedule. Although he’s faced teams like the Dodgers, Giants, and Cubs, seven of his 11 starts have been against sub-.500 teams. In his four starts against teams above .500, Cabrera has struggled, posting a 5.30 ERA, a .384 wOBA, and allowing 13 runs on 27 hits. He also rarely pitches deep, with no start exceeding 5.2 innings. This will give Philadelphia more chances against Miami’s bullpen, which has logged the second-most innings in the league over the past week at 31.1.

Paul Goldschmidt 2+ total bases -120 vs. Los Angeles Angels

The Yankees are facing a lefty, so that means Goldschmidt is likely hitting leadoff. He’s been dominant against left-handed pitching this season, with a .501 wOBA, a .271 ISO, and a 233 wRC+. Today, he faces Angels starter Tyler Anderson, who has a 4.44 ERA, a 4.36 xERA, and a 4.97 FIP. Anderson has struggled significantly on the road, with a 6.31 ERA and a .377 wOBA over 35.2 innings, a stark contrast to his home splits. Give me Goldy to record at least two total bases this afternoon.

New York Mets vs. Atlanta Braves over 4.5 runs through the first five innings +100

I expect plenty of early offense in this game. Clay Holmes faces Spencer Strider, who has struggled in his return, posting a 4.35 ERA, 4.27 xERA, and 4.32 FIP across six starts. Left-handed hitters have troubled Strider most this season, with a .350 wOBA, 5.44 FIP, and three of the five home runs he’s allowed. The Mets’ likely lineup today could feature at least five left-handed hitters, possibly six, exploiting this weakness.

As for Holmes, he faces regression, with a 2.87 ERA but a 3.91 xERA. His strikeout rate has dipped below one per inning, leading to more contact. Consequently, he’s allowed nine home runs through 78.1 innings, more than double last season’s total.

Good luck with these MLB picks tonight!
