Twins vs Reds Projected Starting Pitchers

Twins vs Reds MLB Betting Preview

Andrew Abbott just threw an absolute gem against the Guardians, wrapping up a complete game shutout. It was hands down the best performance of his career so far.

But as much as I’m rooting for him — he’s on my fantasy team in a dynasty league — I’m taking a different route for his matchup against the Twins and their up-and-coming pitcher, David Festa.

Festa’s Stuff+ is pretty middle-of-the-road, with his fastball getting decent marks while his secondary pitches don’t stand out. He wasn’t on any outlet’s top-100 prospect list, but he’s not someone you should ignore.

He’s missing bats at a fair rate and holds his own in those crucial plate discipline metrics. He might not be the ace everyone talks about, but he’s got the chops to stick around in the Twins’ rotation as a solid mid-to-backend starter.

Twins vs Reds Pick, Best Bets

Breaking down today’s Festa vs. Abbott duel, it’s really a numbers game.

Abbott’s riding high from that stellar game, and while I’m in his corner for every outing, it feels like the oddsmakers might be giving him a bit too much credit as the favorite.

The Reds facing off against the Twins is more of a toss-up than it seems, and with Minnesota being a slight underdog at around +105, it’s too tempting to let pass. I’m taking the Twins on the moneyline in this one.

Moneyline

My best bet for this game is to take the Twins on the moneyline. I think Festa can compete with Abbott, who might be a bit overvalued coming off the best start of his career.

Run Line (Spread)

While I’m betting the Twins on the moneyline, I don’t have a pick on the run line.

Over/Under

I’m staying away from the total in this game.
