Michigan Panthers QB named UFL Offensive Player of the Year

The Michigan Panthers are heading to the United Football League championship, and now the man who led them there has received a top individual award.

The UFL announced Tuesday that Panthers quarterback Bryce Perkins has been named the 2025 UFL Offensive Player of the Year.

Perkins, a former star at Virginia, is the first quarterback to win the award, after it went to St. Louis wide receiver Hakeem Butler in 2024.

The award was selected by a panel of league and team executives, coaches and players from all eight teams, as well as broadcast partners and media members.

Perkins, who was limited to seven games this season due to injury, earned three offensive player of the week awards during the season to earn All UFL honors.

The Arizona native finished the regular season fourth in the league in passing yards (1,342), tied for second in passing touchdowns (9) and second in completion percentage (.690).

Perkins, who is known for his playmaking and dynamic style, completed 109-of-158 passes for 1,342 yards while only throwing two interceptions. He also added 269 rushing yards on 47 carries.

The USFL champion Panthers will go for the UFL title vs. the XFL champion DC Defenders at 8 p.m. on June 14.

The game will take place at The Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis and can be seen on ABC.
