Country superstar Luke Bryan has performed hundreds, if not thousands, of live shows, bringing his hits to audiences over and over.
But even a pro like Luke can forget the words to a song sometimes. It’s how he recovered that made fans love him even more.
A TikTok video is going viral of Bryan at a recent concert on his “A Country Song Came On” Tour, sitting down at the piano to sing “Strip It Down.” The American Idol judge stops abruptly and confesses to the crowd, “I totally forgot all the words.”
Moments later, Luke exclaims, “I got it!” and starts singing again.
But the honest moment only served to endear Luke Bryan to his already devoted fans. The crowd laughed and cheered his admission and quick recovery.
And the fan who posted the video on TikTok, ariana.wh, captioned the video “luke bryan forgetting his own lyrics was definitely the highlight of my night😂”
Followers agreed, commenting, “I love how realistic he is and not fake.. it’s more relatable 😌”
Another wrote, “and during one of his best songs💔💔” to which ariana.wh replied, “literally but honestly made it better”
Luke Bryan Has Forgotten His Lyrics Before
It’s far from the first time Luke Bryan has forgotten the lyrics to one of his songs, or the first time he’s admitted it to fans.
In fact, in the comments under adriana.wh’s TikTok video, one fan wrote, “When I saw him he forgot the words so bad he made us google them”
Luke has also offered support to “American Idol” contestants when they’ve forgotten lyrics. When Slater Nalley forgot the words at the beginning of “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” on Idol’s Disney Night May 11, Bryan was quick to compliment his recovery. After the performance, Luke told Slater, “I want you to just understand, that stuff happens. I’ve done it on award shows and high-pressure moments. But way to recover and great job on the finish.”
Luke Bryan’s ‘A Country Song Came On Tour’ Will Keep Him On the Road
Luke Bryan will have plenty of chances at a “do-over.”
Right now, Bryan’s schedule is jam-packed with concert dates for his “A Country Song Came On” tour. Tour dates run through early September. But even after his last show on the tour September 6 in Biloxi, Mississippi, the singer won’t be done.
Just a few weeks later, Bryan will circle back to his “Farm Tour.“
That tour brings concerts to America’s farmers, setting up stages right in the middle of the farmland in small towns throughout the country. This year, Bryan expanded that tour, bringing three shows to California farmers for the first time in May.
He’ll stage his traditional fall leg of his “Farm Tour” with three concert dates.
Sept. 18 — Brooklyn, Wisc. @ Klondike Farms
Sept. 19 — Prairie Grove, Ill. @ Berning Family Farms
Sept. 20 — Lansing, Mich. @ Kubiak Farm
You can find details and tickets to either tour here.
