Here’s the Summerfest 2025 lineup for opening day, June 19

Summerfest, one of the country’s oldest and largest music festivals, is back for its 57th iteration in Milwaukee.

This year’s opening day coincides with Juneteenth Day, which the festival will recognize with some special acts and events.

Juneteenth Day activities at Summerfest

Following Milwaukee’s traditional Juneteenth Day parade and festival on King Drive, Summerfest will host an opening ceremony at Maier Festival Park with Northcott Neighborhood House, which organizes the Juneteenth parade and festival. The ceremony, starting at 6 p.m., will include performances, remarks from representatives and acknowledgement of the year’s Juneteenth scholarship recipients.

The festival also booked a number of acts specifically for Juneteenth, including Rock and Roll Hall of Famers the Isley Brothers (10 p.m., BMO Pavilion), R&B veteran and Milwaukee native Eric Benét (7:30 p.m., BMO Pavilion), rapper Fabolous (10 p.m., UScellular Connection Stage), Milwaukee music scene veteran and blues artist Buffalo Nichols (4:30 p.m., Miller Lite Oasis),and Milwaukee native and blues rock band the Shonn Hinton Experience (6:30 p.m., Miller Lite Oasis).

Summerfest also will play host to A Taste of Juneteenth event, but on June 21.
