Carmen Electra Grabs Attention With ‘Spring Break’ Swimsuit Video

It’s been 25 years since an iconic Carmen Electra moment on MTV.

In 2000, MTV “Spring Break” featured a 27-year-old Carmen Electra strutting in a black swimsuit. The moment went viral at the time and has continued to live on in the social media world in 2025.

On Thursday, in celebration of the 25-year anniversary, Electra, now 52, took to Instagram to pay tribute to her iconic moment on MTV.

“Spring break baby 🖤,” she wrote.

Electra, who is from Ohio, rose to fame in the 1990s. She was infamously married to Dennis Rodman from 1998-99 and was known for her starring role in “Baywatch.”

It wasn’t an easy path to fame, though.

“I was homeless in L.A., I’m not from a rich family or anything like that,” she told PEOPLE. “I knew where I needed to be in N.Y. or L.A.. So there was a lot of struggling, and I didn’t really know what I was going to do. But I just started to try things and come out of my shell really. So that’s the beginning.”

She added: “I would not want to go into auditions, I’d leave and say everyone’s so pretty, I can’t do this, I can’t memorize anything.”

Electra eventually broke through, getting a big role on “Baywatch” and she later starred in movies like “Cheaper By The Dozen 2.”

“I felt like trying things and meeting some good people on the way that helped me,” Electra added.

“I don’t know if people really know that about me but there it is,” she said. “You guys make it happen.”

Electra has blown up in the social media world, too. She has more than two million followers on Instagram and is an active poster on the social media platform.
