The nepotism allegations on Bronny James are nothing new. Several fans and critics have called out the Los Angeles Lakers rookie as they believe that he has been in the NBA and the team due to the influence of his father, LeBron James. Recently, Anna Horford, sister of Boston Celtics veteran Al Horford, has shared her thoughts on the matter as many of her fans were asking her opinion on the same.

Last year, Anna Horford made waves with a since-deleted post on X, where she expressed her frustration over Bronny’s NBA journey. “Bronny James playing with his dad is cool & all, but my heart breaks for the players who didn’t get drafted or who are stuck in the G-League knowing they’re legitimately stronger players than him,” she wrote.
Horford eventually deleted the post. Recently, she addressed the controversy again, stating, “Lakers Twitter is dying for me to respond to a comment about Bronny from November. I don’t owe anyone an explanation, lmao. There are so many more important things to be discussing right now. Some of you genuinely need to get lives. Great to hear he’s doing well in the G-League.”
Replying to the original post, she added comment, “Anyway… I’ll let you all know what it’s like to hold Larry (again) in June 😉☘️”
The Los Angeles Lakers selected Bronny with the 55th pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, reuniting him with his father, LeBron James. The debate started and has continued since. Certainly, it has taken a toll on the James family as Bronny’s father and his mother, Savannah James, never lose any opportunity to defend their son. Recently, James made headlines as he confronted ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith with F-words for his criticism of Bronny.
Later, Bronny told The Athletic that such criticism has always impacted him. “My first thought about everything is I always try to just let it go through one ear and out the other, put my head down and come to work and be positive every day,” Bronny said in the interview.
“But sometimes it just, it fuels me a little bit. I see everything that people are saying, and people think, like, I’m a f**king robot, like I don’t have any feelings or emotions,” he added. But he asserted that the negativity surrounding his name inspired him to do better.

And he did. Bronny delivered 17 points along with three rebounds, five assists, and a block in 30 minutes off the bench during Thursday’s 118-89 loss to the Bucks. Later, in the G-League, he went on to score a career-high 39 points for the South Bay Lakers. Bronny is making his case stronger with his stunning performances as he steps on a path to create his own legacy.
