As the Savannah Bananas and Party Animals continue their 2025 Banana Ball World Tour, Banana Ball continues to grow.After adding a third team last year, the Firefighters, it’s adding a fourth one this year, the Texas Tailgaters.And they won’t be the last team added.Meet the Texas Tailgaters. They are the latest entry into the Banana Ball experience. They are preparing for their inaugural season which begins next month, becoming the fourth Banana Ball team.Jordan Hussein, a Texas native, played for the Party Animals last year but is now a Texas Tailgater.“I get to represent my home state,” said Hussein. “I got to learn a lot from the Party Animals last year, so I’m very thankful for them, wish them nothing but the best. But, I have a new team to compete on and a new state to show some pride for, so I’m very excited.”Tailgaters second baseman Jonathan Luders is brand new to the entire Banana Ball experience.“What an honor to be in this organization in the first place,” said Luders. “Because all the things they’ve done before, what the Fans First message is. To be a part of this is really special.”And he’ll bring something special with him, riding a unicycle during some of his at-bats.“It started when I was in fourth grade, had an awesome gym teacher, Miss Robertson, who taught myself, my fellow classmates how to unicycle,” said Luders. “And ever since then, I knew how to do it. So here we are.”The addition of the Texas Tailgaters is just the tip of the iceberg for Banana Ball. In fact, the Bananas will add two more teams next year for a total of six to form a Banana Ball League. “Best part about six teams in a championship league as a competitor, I love it,” said Noah Bridges, a Firefighters outfielder and former Savannah Banana. “But for the fans and for the organization, it’s just a great way to expand. And, we like to say you do for one fan, which one do for all of them. So, six teams are going to take on that mantra. It’s going to be really special for the fan,s and I’m excited for it.”The Texas Tailgaters will continue their spring training at Grayson Stadium for the next few weeks. Their first game for this year’s Banana Ball Tour is May 24 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, against the Party Animals.
