The final signature event of the PGA Tour season tees off on Thursday. Scottie Scheffler, who won the Travelers Championship in 2024, will try to successfully defend his title. Â
Rory McIlroy has also expressed his excitement about returning to the event after missing the tournament in 2024. Â
Yet, some PGA Tour golfers are worth keeping an eye because of injuries.
According to an injury report provided by Nuclr Golf, Hideki Matsuyama is dealing with ongoing back issues heading into the Travelers Championship. Jason Day continues to be hampered by neck pain but played through the injury at the U.S. Open and finished tied for 23rd. Additionally, Alex Noren is battling a hamstring injury.Â
Brian Campbell is recovering from a shoulder injury and withdrew hours before the Travelers Championship started on Thursday.Â

Corey Conners withdrew from the tournament due to a wrist injury sustained at the U.S. Open. His withdrawal on Tuesday opened a spot in the field for Jhonattan Vegas.
Davis Riley was also added to the field replacing Campbell ahead of the first round.
It will be worth watching how the golfers perform despite the injuries. Day is paired with Max Homa, Noren with Cam Davis and Matsuyama with Justin Thomas. These golfers have not withdrawn from the event.
With a purse of $20 million and a birdie-friendly course, there is considerable excitement among the golfers and fans this week after a thrilling, but punishing, U.S. Open.Â
“Looking forward to the week,” McIlroy told reporters. “This is the perfect sort of chaser for what Oakmont was last week, and nice to get out on a golf course where you feel you can make quite a few birdies.
“After a week like I had at Oakmont last week, where you’re not quite in the mix but you might feel you find something in your game, you’re excited to come back and play again.”Â
