Hot, humid day ahead with elevated rain chances in Central Florida
RIGHT NOW. HEY, GOOD THURSDAY MORNING, EVERYONE. WE ARE A LITTLE BIT CLOSER TO THE WEEKEND AND IT’S GREAT TO HAVE YOU WITH US. I’M ALAN CAMPBELL. AND I’M MEREDITH MCDONOUGH. WE’LL TALK ABOUT THAT INCIDENT YOU’VE BEEN COVERING THIS MORNING HERE WITH MEGAN MACKEY, WITH YOUR TRAFFIC OUT THE DOOR IN JUST A MOMENT. BUT FIRST, LET’S BEGIN WITH METEOROLOGIST KELLIANNE KLASS KELLIANNE. LOOKING FORWARD A LITTLE BIT MORE RAIN TODAY. YEAH, A LOT MORE RAIN TODAY, ESPECIALLY FOR THE AFTERNOON AND EVENING. YESTERDAY WE HAD A LOT OF SUNNY, DRY CONDITIONS. JUST A FEW SHOWERS POPPING UP, BUT I THINK BY LATE MORNING, EARLY AFTERNOON WE’RE GOING TO BE TRACKING QUICKLY. RAINFALL QUICKLY DEVELOPING I SHOULD SAY OUTSIDE. RIGHT NOW THOUGH, WE’RE STARTING OFF THIS MORNING NICE AND DRY WITH A NICE SUNRISE AS WE GET A FIRST GLIMPSE OF DAWN HERE IN MARION COUNTY. A LITTLE BIT OF THAT DAYLIGHT, TRYING TO PEEK ON THROUGH WITH MOSTLY SUNNY OR MOSTLY CLEAR CONDITIONS. BY THE WAY, TOMORROW OFFICIALLY STARTS SUMMER, THE SUMMER SOLSTICE. WE BRING THAT IN AT 1041 IN THE EVENING, WHICH IS ALSO THE LONGEST DAY IN TERMS OF DAYLIGHT, WHERE WE HAVE ALMOST 14 HOURS OF DAYLIGHT. SO TOMORROW MORNING OUR SUNRISE IS GOING TO BE AT 628 IN THE MORNING WITH A SUNSET AT 826. NOW OUR MORNINGS ARE STILL GOING TO BE WARM. IT’S SUMMER HERE IN CENTRAL FLORIDA. UNOFFICIALLY. TEMPERATURES ALREADY THIS MORNING INTO THE MIDDLE AND UPPER 70S. EVEN A COUPLE OF LOW 80S. AND ON OUR MUGGY METER THIS MORNING AND THIS AFTERNOON, WE’RE BACK AT THE STEAMY CATEGORY. SO TEMPERATURES WILL FEEL A LOT MORE LIKE THE TRIPLE DIGITS. THEN WE TRACK RAIN. WE’LL HAVE THOSE DETAILS COMING UP IN A FEW MINUTES. FIRST THOUG
