Charley Crockett, Jamey Johnson to play benefit concert with Indian relay races

An evening of music and heritage comes to Big Mountain Ranch in Whitefish with a benefit concert featuring Grammy-nominated musicians, Charley Crockett and Jamey Johnson. 

The June 28 event will also showcase Indian relay races — an exhilarating horse-racing tradition rooted in Native American history — and Native art vendors. 

From busking to selling out iconic venues, Crockett, a Grammy Award-nominated, Texas-born maverick, has come a long way with his blend of country, blues and soul. 

Johnson, a 10-time Grammy nominee, has cemented his place as one of country music’s most authentic and uncompromising voices with hits like “In Color” and “High Cost of Living.” 

Proceeds benefit the Wolves Den Youth Center, a nonprofit dedicated to helping troubled and indigent youth of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe, since 2000.  

Doors open at 3 p.m. and relay races start at 4 p.m. The concert starts at 6:30 p.m. The event goes through 10 p.m. Big Mountain Ranch is located at 1876 Voerman Road in Whitefish.  

General admission tickets are $75, and all ages are welcome. VIP tickets are available to people 21 and up and cost $500. VIP tickets include access to VIP-shaded parking, a viewing area, a beer garden and restrooms.
