Flooded roadways are expected across Tipton County, and officials are urging drivers to use caution Thursday morning, June 19.
Tipton County has experienced multiple weather-related car crashes and is expecting several road closures that will likely impact residents’ morning commutes.
According to Tipton County Sheriff Shannon Beasley, the area was under a flash flood warning following severe weather from Wednesday night into Thursday morning, June 19. Officials have confirmed that multiple roadways are flooded.
One incident involved a flooded tractor-trailer on Mt. Carmel Road near Barnett Hall Road, Sheriff Beasley shared in a social media post.
The county is currently waiting on the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) to officially close the affected roadway, and more closures are anticipated.
Although the flash flood warning is set to expire at 6:15 a.m., the public is urged to take extra travel time this morning. Sheriff Beasley advises drivers to slow down and treat ALL roadways as if they are flooded.
