Starting Pitchers

Nick Lodolo

It’s been a good season for Nick Lodolo in 2025, but he has had a few hiccups along the way. One of those hiccups came in his last outing when he gave up six runs in 3.1 innings to Cleveland as his ERA jumped up to 3.76 in the outing.

In three of his 14 starts teams have had an entire lineup of right-handed hitters against him. Lefties just aren’t getting many opportunities to face him, but when they do they continue to find success as they’re hitting .346 and getting on base quite often. Right-handed hitters aren’t finding much success against him as they are hitting for a lot average, not getting on base, and have shown moderate at best power.

Bailey Ober

In 2025 Bailey Ober has either been real good, or quite bad. In starts #2-12 this season he posted a 2.43 ERA. But in his 1st start, and his last two starts he’s allowed 20 earned runs in 14.1 innings (12.56 ERA). The last time out he gave up seven runs to Texas while walking six batters and giving up four home runs.

This season the splits against Ober have favored right-handed hitters. They are walking a bit more and hitting for more power. Lefties are walking less, making way more contact, but not hitting for as much power against him.
