Corey Conners withdraws with wrist injury at Oakmont

Corey Conners withdrew from the 2025 U.S. Open on Sunday morning before his final-round tee time at 10:20 a.m. EDT due to a right wrist injury he suffered during Saturday’s third round.

Sportsnet’s Adam Stanley first reported Conners WD, which happened after he hit his ball out of a plugged lie in the greenside bunker on No. 11.

He then took the max time waiting for medical personnel to arrive and check on his wrist. He received some treatment on the 12th tee and continued his round, signing for 72 but coming home in 40 after shooting 32 on the front nine. He was at 8 over overall before his Sunday tee time alongside Ryan Fox.

Fellow PGA Tour pro Michael Kim, who was paired with the Canadian in the third round, chimed in Saturday on social media to discuss how well Conners was playing before the injury.

Conners had issues with his wrist and forearm area stemming from Thursday’s first round, and hacking it out of the plugged lie aggravated the injury Saturday. He attempted to warm up Sunday but was unable to because of pain, Stanley said.

Last year, Conners finished T-9 at Pinehurst No. 2, his best in a U.S. Open.
