Second seed Ugo Humbert will square off against Gabriel Diallo for the first time in their careers today at the Libema Open in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands. A finalist here last year, Humbert earned a first-round bye and has looked sharp so far, breezing past qualifier Daniel Evans before dispatching seventh seed Nuno Borges with ease.
Diallo, on the other hand, has taken a rockier path to this stage. The Canadian began with a gritty straight-sets win over Aleksandar Vukic, sealing the second set in a tense tiebreak. He then mounted a comeback to upset sixth seed Jordan Thompson. And followed it up with another strong performance, this time taking down third seed Karen Khachanov in straight sets.

Ugo Humbert vs. Gabriel Diallo Preview
Humbert’s season has been inconsistent. After a fourth-round run in Melbourne and a title win in Marseille over Hamad Medjedovic, he hasn’t gone past the round of 16, his best showings coming in Dubai and Munich. He also withdrew from Doha due to minor injuries and fatigue. Stat-wise, the Frenchman has hit 161 aces, winning 74% on first serve and 28% on first-serve returns, while converting 34% of 160 break points.
Diallo, on the rise, broke into the Top 60 in May after a Madrid quarterfinal run that included wins over Cameron Norrie and Grigor Dimitrov. He was stopped by Lorenzo Musetti in straight sets. He hasn’t gone beyond the round of 32 elsewhere, except for a last-16 finish in Bucharest. The Canadian has fired 41 aces, winning 69% on first serve, 22% on return, and converting 45% of 22 break points.
