900 hats sold in 3 days! Teal Nation store busy as CCU heads to College World Series

Coastal Carolina University baseball fans are getting ready for Friday’s big game by hitting the stores and buying everything teal.

Downtown Conway is covered in teal in support of Coastal Carolina University’s baseball team, which is in Omaha to compete in the Men’s College World Series.

This is the team’s second time punching their ticket to the World Series since 2016, and fans say they will be cheering the team on all the way to victory!

Paige Sullivan goes to CCU and is getting her masters in sports management. She said she can’t wait for tomorrow’s match-up.

“I’m really excited to see Coastal play in Omaha! I’ve been turning on the sports game every chance I can get, and I’m here to buy a sports jersey,” Sullivan said.

She said she tried getting one of the sought-after Omaha baseball caps but was unable to do so.

Employees at the Teal Nation store in Conway said they are completely sold out of the Omaha baseball caps; they sold 900 in three days.

Conway City Council Member Julie Hardwick got her hands on one of the Omaha hats and said she’s ready to cheer the team on to victory!

“I’ll be wearing a teal shirt with coastal baseball on it, and I’ll have my Omaha baseball hat on, and we’ll be cheering,” Hardwick said.

Jasmine Herstine is the general manager at Hop N Wich, and she said the restaurant is ready for the big game.

“We are excited. We want everybody to come out and watch the game. We will have all the games on all the TVs, and we will have some drinks and happy hour. It’s supposed to be a good turnout,” Herstine explained

CCU will play its first game in the series at 2 p.m. ET on Friday.
