Summary: Broome is a super senior who brings a ready-made game as an interior finisher with a passing feel and tone-setting defense. But his shaky jumper hasn’t progressed as much as NBA teams would hope.

Comparisons: Jaylin Williams

Strengths

Effort: Sets the tone for his team showing emotion after big plays. He leads with his effort by running the floor hard, and hustling and communicating on defense.

Defense: Hard-nosed defender with innate timing for blocking shots around the rim.

Playmaking: Broome’s a savvy passer out of the low post and high post, using his vision to hit cutters or kick out to shooters with precision. Sometimes he’ll receive the ball then just fire a left-handed pass without even missing a beat. His ability to read defenses and deliver slick, timely feeds adds a connective layer to his game beyond just scoring.

At-rim finishing: Crafty ambidextrous finisher at the rim comfortable scoring against length and contact. He is aggressive and capable of driving through defenders, or mixing in spin moves to create space. He also has good touch on floaters and hook shots further from the basket.

Post scoring: Capable post player, though his primary value in the NBA will be screening since he can receive the ball in the pocket and dribble to the rim or make slick passes to teammates.

Concerns

Shooting: Broome made only 31.2% of his 3s in five college seasons and only 61% of his free throws. If he’s not able to reliably space the floor, then fit becomes a concern.

Athleticism: Not an elite athlete switching. He only has a 7-foot wingspan, and he’s not quite nimble enough against quicker guards on a switch.
